Gerry O’Sullivan

Gerry delivers professional mediation training and provides a mediation service through her company O’Sullivan Solutions (www.osullivansolutions.ie). She has been working in the area of facilitation and conflict for nearly 30 years.

Mediation Services

Gerry is certified in organizational and workplace mediation, community mediation, civil and commercial mediation and in separating couples mediation.  Her expertise is in working with disputes with a high emotional content, such as clerical sexual abuse, medical negligence, family and community disputes.

Mediation Training Delivery

Gerry has delivered conflict and mediation training internationally with Lawyers Without Borders, in partnership with the director of training from CEDR, and she is also an externally employed trainer with CEDR U.K. She was involved in the development of the mediation programme to be delivered through the faculty of law in Griffith College and is a senior lecturer on that programme and has also delivered mediation training for the University of Limerick’s, “Masters in Peace and Development” programme. Community and Voluntary Sector

Gerry has worked for nearly 30 years in the community and voluntary sector as a consultant, a researcher and a facilitator undertaking contracts for the development, implementation and evaluation of projects. Her contacts have come from government departments, local authorities, statutory agencies and community projects and have included a wide range of social exclusion such disability, asylum seekers, lesbian/gay projects, Traveller organisations etc.

International Experience

Gerry has volunteered in Israel/Palestine, Cuba, Serbia and Northern Ireland. She trained in “Systemic Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation and Post-War Recovery and Reconciliation” with the Peace Action Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR) and is she is now an associate with their Department of Peace Operations (DPO). She has trained in Inter-Community Mediation in Post-Conflict countries and in the Evaluation and Assessment of Peace Interventions
